What is accepted as proof of financial soundness?
A six-month bank statement, a US$150-equivalent currency endorsement, or a copy of an international credit or travel card.
In detail
The document words it as: “(i) Bank statement for last six months showing sufficient funds (ii) Endorsement of foreign currency equivalent to US$150/- per applicant … OR copy of international credit card or Travel card”.
This structure deserves care. The 2024 edition numbers the bank statement separately as (i), which can be read as requiring both the statement and the endorsement. The High Commission's earlier edition (2021) listed all three as alternatives joined by “OR”.
The document does not settle which reading now applies, so we are not going to pick one for you. The practical advice: bring the bank statement — it satisfies either reading, so you are covered whichever interpretation is correct. It must cover six months and show sufficient funds.
