Which visa applies if I am married to an Indian national?
The entry visa — the category covers spouses of Indian nationals and their children.
In detail
The entry visa section of the High Commission's document names this case directly: “Bangladesh national married to an Indian national or their children”.
Alongside the seven common requirements, three extra documents apply:
- Proof of the spouse's Indian address
- Proof of the relationship — the spouse's Indian Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, marriage certificate or nikahnama (any one of the four)
- A copy of the Indian spouse's passport — marked “if available” in the document, so optional
Watch the spelling of names on the relationship documents. Marriage certificates and nikahnamas very commonly spell names differently from the passport, since they were drawn up at different times and places.
