How is the appointment slot booked — can I choose my own date?
Yes — you select the centre and an available date from a calendar. Slots for the next two weeks open on Thursday. This is from the portal’s latest FAQ (effective 16 August 2026).
In detail
According to the appointment portal FAQ (version 1.0, effective 16 August 2026), booking works like this:
- Sign in to the portal and click “Book Your Appointment”
- Upload the Primary Webfile, and Secondary Webfiles if applicable
- Select a centre — the system shows only the centres eligible for the Mission Centre it reads from the Webfile
- Pick an available date from the calendar
- Pay, then download the invoice
When slots open: slots for the next two weeks open on Thursday (or the last working day of the week), subject to availability. Booking runs Sunday–Thursday 12:00–17:00 and Saturday 10:00–12:00. You cannot book for the same day.
Worth remembering:
- a Webfile (the PDF of the online application) older than 30 days is not accepted
- once a booking is confirmed it cannot be rescheduled, cancelled or transferred to someone else
- if you fail to secure a slot, every uploaded Webfile is deleted and you must upload them afresh
A correction: this page used to say that, according to press reports, you could no longer choose a time from 1 July 2026 — the system assigned one — so racing for a slot was pointless. IVAC’s latest official FAQ does not support that: it has you select the centre and date yourself. We cannot say what actually changed on 1 July; what we can say is that the current official description is the one above. How fast slots fill up is stated in no official source either, so we withdraw the “no need to race” line.
