What papers are needed from the guarantor for a student visa?
The guarantor's bank solvency papers — separate from the applicant's own financial documents.
In detail
The student visa list contains two separate financial documents, and confusing them is a common mistake.
The first is the common requirement that applies to everyone — the applicant's own proof of financial soundness (a six-month bank statement, a US$150 endorsement, or an international card).
The second applies to student visas only — the guarantor's bank solvency papers. The guarantor is usually a parent or guardian who will fund the studies.
The document does not define who may act as guarantor, nor does it state a required amount, so we will not invent a figure. Banks take a few days to issue a solvency certificate, so request it in advance.
